Museo Felisa Rincon de Guatier
Felisa Rincon was the first women elected mayor, she was one of the most iconic mayors because she advocated for women's rights. She also implemented new ideas to the educational system, and allowed the poor to have access to quality public medical centers. This museum was created in her honor and as a tribute for all the good things she did to help the poor.

Pablo Casals Museum

Pablo Casals Museum is a museum that commemorates Pablo Casals, a well known cellist and Conductor. He is known as one of the greatest cellists in history. Music and memorabilia from throughout his career are part of the exhibition. The photo shows the old location, at Plaza San Jose, before it closed down. 

Parque Luis Munoz Rivera

Parque Luis Muñoz Rivera
The park was built in 1934 and named after former governor Luis Muñoz Rivera. There is a statue in the middle of the park which commemorates his memory. The main purpose of the park was to give the people of San Juan a place to gather and host a variety of cultural and family activities. Currently year round activities are held at the park which is open to the public on a daily basis. On the other hand they also host weddings and private events in reserved areas.

Parque de las Palomas

The park was built in the 1700's and got its name because birds lived there. It is open everyday. Visitors come to feed the birds and to see the beautiful wall with bird nests. For one dollar you can buy a bag of corn for you children or yourself to feed the birds. If you don't feel like feeding the bird just enjoy the view, the park provides one of the best views of the bay due to its elevation. 



Plaza de Armas

It's the first plaza built in Old San Juan, when built its original purpose was to host military drills. City Hall and the Department of State border this tourist attraction. The large fountain symbolizes the four seasons. It's one of the largest and most important plazas in Old San Juan and its also a great place to feed the birds. 



Plaza Arturo Somohano

Plaza Arturo Somohano
Its a small plaza near the cruise ship ports where local artists gather sell their works of art. This plaza is also a great place to have something to eat. There are several restaurants and cafes. In the middle of the plaza there is a statue of Arturo Somohano. He was the director of the San Juan Symphony Orchestra.  If you are hungry or want to buy some Puerto Rican memorabilia this is the place to go.

Plaza de Colon

Plaza de Colón
This plaza marks the entrance to Old San Juan. It was built over 400 years ago to honor the person that discovered Puerto Rico, Christopher Columbus. The plaza is known for hosting events with locals artists during the weekends. This is an excellent place to start or end your day in Old San Juan.
